Following are given two sample gestational diabetes diets. Both these sample diet plans have different break up. The former diet
First DIabetic Diet Plan
It contains a breakfast that has two slices of whole grain bread with 2 tablespoon peanut butter on it. It also carries a half cup of pure orange juice. After this there is a midmorning snack that contains a medium sized apple with 1 cup cottage cheeses.
The lunch contains 1 cup lentil soup. It also carries one serving of whole grain cracker served with 2 ounces low fat cheese. It is served with one cup baby carrots.
After lunch, comes a mid-afternoon snack that carries a cup of grapes and 20 raw almonds. The dinner includes 6 ounces fish with 1 cup brown rice and an equivalent amount of steamed broccoli. This is taken with 1 cup low fat milk. If the mother feels slightly hungry in the late night she can have 5 cups air popped pop corns.
Second Diabetic Diet Plan
The second diet involves a breakfast containing 2 egg whites and one whole scrambled egg. It may also contain one whole wheat English muffin with 1 teaspoon margarine and a melon slice.
Midmorning snack incorporates 6 ounces yogurt with ¼ cup low fat granola. The lunch carries 2 slices of whole grain bread and 2 ounces of chicken or turkey. This is served with lettuce leaves, tomato slices and slices of cheese. After lunch gestational diabetic woman can take a tablespoon of low fat milk and an apple.
Mid-afternoon snack includes 1/4 cup hummus and 1 cup raw vegetables. The evening snack incorporates a smoothie. This smoothie is prepared with one cup reduced fat milk and ½ cup strawberries.
Dinner includes 5 ounces of grilled chicken with one cup steamed carrots. It also contains a medium sized baked or steamed sweet potato served with 2 tablespoon sour cream.
